A-Maze-N smoke tube?

Postby mrboy » Sun Jan 01, 2017 7:31 pm

I'm always looking for more smoke flavor from my smoker.

Have any of you ever used an A-Maze-N products smoke tube inside your Backwoods? I've got a G2 Chubby and thinking of giving this a try.

I have a couple of those tubes but sure never have needed them in my Backwoods Cookers. I use hickory chunks and get all the smoke I need in about any cook I do.

Are you using smoke wood chunks in your cooker?

I don't have any of these tubes and haven't seen a reason I would need them on a Backwoods. If you were going to use one you would have to use it on the top shelf to get the proper flow of smoke over the meat. I would be concerned about ash getting on the food as it burns the wood pellets in it.
For a Backwoods I don't think it would be worth the effort when you already have one of the best smokers built.

Old Dave and I never heard if you were using wood chunks in your charcoal basket?
